Begining of design

Design of 3 wheeled Morgan lookalike. I began designing using thin wall square tube & realized it could become very heavy. I moved on to exploring using wood which Morgan used with only the lightest steel chassis.

I wanted a front engine cyclekart and found a supply of spruce (European pine) because its light & strong.

So I swapped to spruce photo is the 2 chassis rails and front cross brace that carry the engine/transmission but also acts as the lower arm of the front suspension.

Ordered lots of parts got many but need more before I can start glue & screw chassis together. Black tube is the shaft to take power thru to back wheel via a right angle gearbox. I am planning a swing arm rear suspension pivoting at the point of the gearbox. The pivot will have a friction disc to provide friction damping.

Possibly lever steering a simplified version of the 1909 morgan.

What could possibly go wrong?

Cheers David
