Mick I'm thinking probably not. Might have to try and buff some of the scratches out but I like the raw ally look

Looking really good. I guess the big question is... are you going to paint it? It almost seems a shame to cover that lovely bodywork

I bought springs on ebay, could be meant for a trailer, 60mm wide, cut them down to 30mm wide.

Took me 2 years, I know the feeling :) did you cut trailer springs lengthwise for your springs ?

That great, anything to help, make it easier and safer for others.
Putting our heads together to streamline this process is what it about.

Absolutely - standard dimensions according to AS1657 (Can you tell that I've spent too long working on mine sites :(lol) )
I'll put an article together when you are done as I think this will definitely help others out.

Now that is a top tip!!! It's parts like this that are the barrier to many people as they don't have the tools to make them up.

I'm using some standard hand rail end posts for the axle, saves the bending, as they are perfectly formed.

These are working very well I would say it's well worth using the bush in the chassis.

This is the link on ebay its 686mm eye to eye.
For $120 you get 4 springs. (once you cut them down)

Great solution. Whats the distance eye-to eye?

This seemed the simplest wat to get the size needed cut down a 60mm wide spring now around 28mm wide I this this will work well.

Thanks Mick, I think it's a big improvement I have a lot of dirt tracks around here so the rear wheels will have a hard life, this setup is so solid, Im very happy with it.
