Gents. Looks like I might be able to secure a regular meeting venue. The venue is the Shannons Club Rooms which are located in Clarence Gardens on South Road. The club rooms have tea and coffee available as well as access to a computer projector, which will no doubt come in handy. AFAIK use of the club rooms is also free, which is great as we are currently not a financial organisation.

There are some caveats to the use of the space, in that there is only a limited amount of days available due to existing club use, but what we should end up with is a specified day each month where we can use the space to meet.

I can appreciate that the location / dates may not suit all, but it is at least a start.

I'll post more as I know more.

Gent's. Great news. Shannons have agree to let us use the club rooms. :)

They have been very receptive to Cyclekarts and Cyclekarting which I think could be a very positive thing for future event promotion.

They have given a range of available dates as follows...

1st Monday of the month
1st Wednesday of the month
2nd Tuesday of the month
2nd Thursday of the month
2nd Friday of the month
4th Friday of the month

I'm leaning towards the Fridays as it might benefit those with an early work start or people travelling from further afield. The 4th Friday falls on Australia Day this year, so the 2nd Friday seems best bet which would make the first meeting date February 9th.

Anyone aware of any clashes with the 2nd Friday that might impact attendance? I've had a quick flick through the calendar but cannot see anything. Anyone have any other comments / suggestions?

I'll create a formal event on the website once we've agree'd on a date.
