The current stage is putting together theYes as the moment we've had some favourable conversations with both insurers and local track owners. The current stage is putting together the necessary safety documentation. This is an important step for us to get right as it will form the basis of how well the insurers consider we are managing the related risks and will determine premiums, or if they will even consider offering a policy. There's still a bit of work to do there as we want to get it right. Our ultimate goal is to have a Cyclekart specific policy.
Otherwise the other option is to operate under an existing motorsports insurance policy, but that attracts additional costs as they are not Cyclekart specific, and are geared toward more powerful and faster vehicles.

It needs to be printed from flexible PLA with high percentage infill (I used 100% although better results at the expense of crushability can be acheived at 75%).
This has worked really well on the Chinese clone engine I have.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully. Item will now be visible on your stream. -

I was concerned about the Kart rolling when on a slope or when getting in and out so I installed a handbrake. this would also stop the kart from moving forward if the engine revs were high. Worth a thought?Post is under moderationStream item published successfully. Item will now be visible on your stream.

I think that's half of the fun. The process of building it. Just like the tube roller nightmonkeyii built to roll his chassis tubes. Rolling themI think that's half of the fun. The process of building it. Just like the tube roller nightmonkeyii built to roll his chassis tubes. Rolling them probably took a matter of minutes, but making the tool itself would have been an adventure in itself. It's all about the journey. I think that most of us are petrol heads of one kind or another, so I see it as a chance to learn skills I might not otherwise get to do on a full sized car. More ...Reported

Cyclekarts are a fantastic concept and an awesome challenge to design and build, and although my Cyclekart is not complete (needing paint and trim), It is a fully functioning race kart.
It is not my intension to spook anyone, however during testing at the track in my back yard, I managed to exceed both the limit of the kart and my driving ability and I rolled it.
Needless to say, this didn't end well, and involved a trip to the hospital to sort out broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder.
Since then all of the repair work to the kart has been carried out and I'm back in the saddle as keen as ever .
I guess my message is to please remember to wear a helmet and give these amazing race karts to respect they deserve.
