My research suggests the King Pins on the Alpha P2 where around 9 degrees in camber (top of pin towards the car) and 8 degrees in caster (Top of pin to the rear).
While this might have given the original car good stability at speed, I am a bit concerned that these angles are excessive (especially since some cyclekarts are built 0,0) and while it may be stable it might not be real nimble and make it less fun in that respect.
Anyone built a setup they are happy with?

admin commented on this post about 1 year agoFinished tacking the flanges to the web for the 2 side rails. decided not to trim flanges to the correct width until I have attached the sides together braced them and fully welded them together.
Also, Tyres arrived during the week $15 bucks each + $12.50 shipping each. Not off roaders but they'll do for a start.100000Comments (3)-
$27.50 a corner is an absolute bargain. Paid three times that for mine at the local M/C shop.Reported

Mick reacted to this post about 1 year agoBit of a one step forward and two steps back day. tacked a flange to the chassis rail web today but went a bit heavy with the tacks and bowed the web in the direction it shouldn't.

I dealt with it like any good Cyclekart builder should, I kicked a tin of bolts in anger and then sat in front of the TV with a beer and pondered my life choices. Scrap that one and start again.
Next time I will lightly tack both flanges and not do any welding until I have both left and right rails in a temporary jig and control the heat.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully. Item will now be visible on your stream. -
