Brass bushes fitted into the sliding tube parts of the stub axles. Bored with my little lathe.
Pillars cut to length. One of those things that just accidentally worked out well,
the cut off point required the friction disc up against the welded on travel limiter.

AfterThanks Mick. Now, in an example of reality & honesty seldom seen on the internet (where everything seems perfect), I have a confession to make:

After boasting of the success of the first pillar, posted here, I cut into the second one ,drained and cleaned it and chopped it off in the cut-off saw.
Although both struts were removed from the same car!?!?, the second one had its rebound stopper welded 30mm further up the shaft.
Second pillar is, therefore, 30mm too short!!! BUGGER!
