Tamaree Cyclekart Trials – Gympie
Last weekend the Cyclekart Club of Australia held the Tamaree Cyclekart Trials near Gympie, marking the first official CCA driving event conducted in Queensland.
The invitational, members-only event was run on a purpose-built 405-metre grass circuit, providing an ideal setting to test cars, shake down new builds, and give drivers valuable seat time in a controlled, low-pressure environment. Four cyclekarts took to the track throughout the day, with consistent running and plenty of opportunity for tuning and setup changes between sessions.
With around 20 attendees in total, the day had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, allowing plenty of discussion around construction techniques, mechanical solutions, and future ideas—exactly the kind of grassroots knowledge-sharing the club is built on. Conditions varied across the day, adding to the challenge and helping demonstrate the versatility of cyclekarts on mixed grass surfaces.
The Tamaree Trials were an important milestone for the club, establishing a foundation for future Queensland-based driving events and reinforcing the strong interest in cyclekarting in the region.
Queensland members interested in upcoming events are encouraged to keep an eye on club announcements, while prospective members can get in touch with the Queensland representative at qld@cyclekarts.org.au or join the club to stay involved.
