Peter Read

Secretary & New South Wales Representative

nsw@cyclekarts.org.au

Peter Read is an electrical fitter and systems integrator with over 20 years’ experience in the electrical and manufacturing industries. His career has taken him from managing a custom switchboard manufacturer with projects reaching as far as the Pilbara, Maldives, Siberia and the Congo, to his current work designing turnkey electrical systems for underground mining ventilation projects.

A passionate supporter of community, creativity and social inclusion, Peter sees CycleKarting as the perfect mix of engineering and fun. His goal is to bring like-minded hobbyists together and grow the CycleKart community in Australia.

Pete Allen

Membership Liaison & SE Queensland Representative

qld@cyclekarts.org.au

Pete’s love of vintage machinery and building "wacky fun machines" started from his childhood on his family’s dairy farm. Today, he balances a 25-year career as a Business Development Manager in the Mechanical and Engineering sectors with a lifelong passion for building go-karts, mini bikes, and now CycleKarts. Pete believes CycleKarts are the ultimate bridge between generations. They provide a hands-on pathway for people to learn mechanical & fabrication techniques, and a budget-friendly way for vintage car enthusiasts to get a classic look without the "heavy lifting" and expense of a full-scale restoration.

"Whether you’re a master fabricator or just starting your first build, I’m here to help you get your CycleKart on track."
